Because of Winn Dixie

             Because of Winn Dixie took place in Naomi, Florida.  India doesn’t have a mom because her mother left her when she was little.  Winn Dixie, a dog, got named after a grocery store.  India found him in a grocery store.  They were about to take him away then India said that he was her dog.  India met Ms. Sweetie Pie when she was on her way to Gertrude’s Pets.  Otis works at Gertrude’s Pets.  India asked to work there for a leash and a collar.  Ms. Franny Block is a librarian.  The Preacher is India’s father, and he is a preacher too.  Gloria Dump is an old lady who sometimes needs help.  The problem is that India can’t find her mother.  I think Because of Winn Dixie is a good book.  My favorite part is when they had the party.  My least favorite part is when they lost Winn Dixie.  I give Because of Winn Dixie 10 out of 10.

         Because of Winn Dixie by Kate DiCamillo is about India, her dog, her friends, and her dad the preacher.  The preacher was in his bed and a thunderstorm was taking place in Naomi, Florida and the problem was that Winn Dixie is scared of thunderstorms.  I think that Because of Winn Dixie is a great and excellent book for kids because it is a book with no sad parts and no dirty language in it.  I like the part when India got hired at Gertrude’s pets and when Otis was playing his guitar to all the animals and they turned to stone.  I think the worst part was when India was calling the Dewberrys bald headed babies.  For the overall rating I will give this book a 9 because it might interest all the kids in the whole entire world or galaxy because it is about a dog.  I think that all kids like dogs and they like dog stories so that is why I give this interesting book a 9 out of 10.

             The setting of Because of Winn Dixie is in Naomi, Florida.  The characters are Winn Dixie, India, Gloria, Dunlap, Stevie, Amanda, Sweetie Pie, Miss Franny, the Preacher, Littmus, and Otis.  The problem with Winn Dixie is that he doesn’t like to stay alone, and he is scared of the thunderstorm.

            My opinion is that I like Winn Dixie because my friend has a dog and she sometimes come over and brings her dog and I am always reading the book to him and he follows me when I have the book.  The best part is when Otis was talking about being a criminal.  The worst part was when Winn Dixie got lost.  The rating I would give it is a 10 out of 10.  I give it 10 out of 10 because the Winn Dixie book is funny.

         This book is about a girl named India and a dog named Winn Dixie.  A girl named India found a dog and she wanted to keep it.  She made the dog’s name Winn Dixie and that is where India met the dog.  They live in Florida.  My favorite part is when Winn Dixie got lost in the storm.  The problem is could India keep Winn Dixie or not?  Details:  India’s father is a preacher and India’s father lets her keep Winn Dixie.  I give Winn Dixie a 10 because this book is good and it is better than all the other books I have read.  I like Winn Dixie, Call of the Wild, and The Black Stallion.
